We Aren't Freaks

 

The theme for the art gallery show was Circus and I was inspired by the sideshow freak exhibits popular in the late 19th century.  I wanted to modernize it and take parts of society that some people still ostracize today: Africans, gays, skinny people, and the tattooed.  I strived to show how wrong it is to judge people by exaggerating some common stereotypes.
